The new production of Artus explores the contradictory and enigmatic world of reality and illusion, in which man must fight his own origin and fate, and must confront his dual nature, the fact that he is both a civilized animal and a fallen angel. Fata morgana is both vision and enchantment – a disturbing, yet beautiful dream of the lost unity. A mirage. An illusion. An apparition.

Based on the writings of Béla Hamvas and Lautréamont, the influential precursor of Surrealism, the production establishes the real world of imagination with motion, video, animation, installation and music. The musical material draws upon five essential works by László Melis. The rapport between Melis and Gábor Goda was not only professional, but also artistic and spiritual, so this production is a tribute to the art of the composer, who passed away seven years ago.
