The founder, the theologian-musicologist Anatoly Grindenko, and his singers set out to discover and present to the public the traditional melodies and original sounds of the ancient Russian church chant. The choir has been on tour in Europe and in the US as well.
In addition to their own repertoire, they will perform Alfred Schnittke's large-scale Choir Concerto and works by Rachmaninov at the International Eucharistic Congress, together with the members of Moscow State Academic Choir.
Through the pieces on their programme, you can discover the special world of Orthodox church music. The Patriarchal Choir of Moscow has enjoyed worldwide success with its uniquely archaic, pure sound.
