One of the goals of our production is through our new and modern re-adaptation, to capture present-day Hungarian reality. Additionally, we wish to portray the bizarre, dark, absurd, disgusting, grotesque, chaotic, pitiful, horrifying, startling and controversial sides of the characters of the story – and to present it all to our beloved audience possibly in the manner of lyrical realism, whatever that means. Therefore, with great diligence and professionalism, we have created scenes filled with expressions that are quite often obscene, vulgar and irritating – but, as we all know quite well, very common to today’s Hungarian reality. Our sharp insight is indisputable. Our intentions are surgically precise and deeply profound. Hence, our production may include the following: a corpse, the deep-freezing of said corpse, bones, vomiting, spitting, nudity, fighting, adult content, broken fingers, use of drugs, dealing of drugs, poison making, flag burning (oh no, not that!), and occasional use of the words Jew and Gypsy. The spectacle will include smoke, stroboscope, loud music, frightening sound effects, chaos, dirt and several litres of artificial blood.
Design and creation of costumes and masks for the party scene was executed by students of the BA2 Class in the Scenography Department of The Hungarian University of Fine Arts, lead by Fruzsina Nagy. With: Gabriella Csoma, Hanna Erős, Csenge Juhos-Kiss, Dorottya Kerékgyártó, Betti Tóth-Király, Petra Mák, Mónika Nádházi Eszter, Kata Ocskó-Kü, Alexandra Kíra Viszolajszky, Eszter Velki, Borbála Zatykó
